Mark Quickfall, Executive Chairman 

Appointed Chair in April 2014. Mark has an extensive history in managing and operating tourism, marine, adventure and aviation businesses and is the former owner of Totally Tourism Ltd (purchased by Skyline in 2011).

Mark is the immediate past Chairman of the regional tourism organisation, Destination Queenstown, serving on the Board for 7 years.

Mark also previously served for 14 years on the Board of Inbound Tour Operators Council of New Zealand (now known as the Tourism Export Council of New Zealand).

Grant Hensman, Director

A director of Skyline Enterprises since 1994, Grant specialises in the management of Skyline’s luge track development and design.

Grant is the son of company founder Hylton Hensman, and he has spent most of his life involved with the company working in various roles for Queenstown, Rotorua and international operations. He co-project-managed Skyline Skyrides in Rotorua when it was built in 1984 and led the first international luge project, in Tremblant, Canada, in 2003. Grant has been involved in all Skyline’s luge projects to date.

Grant owns a successful civil engineering contracting company in Queenstown. He was also a founding member of the Queenstown Chamber of Commerce and served seven years on the executive.

Grant feels privileged to be involved in Skyline’s governance and enjoys watching the company grow from strength to strength.

Donald Jackson lr

Donald Jackson, Director

Appointed to the Board in April 2015 and Managing Partner of McCulloch & Partners, Chartered Accountants, in Queenstown.

Donald has lived in Queenstown since 1996 and previously acted as Secretary to the Board of Directors (2001 to 2015). Donald also represents the company on the Christchurch Casinos Board of Directors.

Donald has considerable knowledge and experience of the Queenstown tourism industry through his involvement as a Chartered Accountant and acts in a trusted advisor role to many clients.

Richard Thomas, Director

Richard spent three years as an Associate Director before being appointed to the board in May 2007. Over the past decade, Richard has been involved in governance across charitable entities, industry associations, incorporated societies, and privately held companies.

Richard is the former Publisher and General Manager of Queenstown’s Mountain Scene. He is the current Chairman of the Queenstown Chamber of Commerce serving on that board since 2006. Richard is Director and owner of business consultancy Redwulff Ltd, and a Director of tourism-tech marketing company Bookme Ltd.

Jan Hunt

Jan Hunt, Director

Jan has been a Director for Skyline Enterprises since April 2008. Jan has extensive experience in the tourism sector having been General Manager of both Millbrook, & Millennium in Queenstown as well Sky City in Auckland where she was instrumental in the development of the Conference Centre and Sky City Grand Hotel.

Jan has been involved with a variety of governance roles including Bio Security, Pacific International Hotel School, Queenstown Chamber of commerce and Destination Queenstown. Jan is currently on the board of NZ Show Jumping as well as chairing the High Performance Committee.

Being a long time local Jan is excited about the Skyline Developments and is committed to the governance and sensible growth of the business.

Sarah Ottrey

Sarah Ottrey B.Comm (Otago), CMInstD, Independent Director


Appointed to the Skyline Enterprises Limited Board in November 2016.

Sarah is a director of the EBOS Group Ltd, Comvita Ltd, The Whitestone Cheese Co. Ltd and Sarah Ottrey Marketing Ltd.

She is a past Board Member of The Public Trust, Blue Sky Meats Ltd, Smiths City Group Ltd and a member of the Inland Revenue Risk and Assurance Committee.  Sarah has held senior marketing executive positions both in New Zealand and internationally with Unilever and Heineken.

Ken Matthews, Chairman

Re-joined Skyline Enterprises in 1996 as Chief Executive after 13 years in various senior management roles within the rural servicing industry. Appointed Managing Director in April 2000 and then Chairman from March 2010 until April 2014.

Currently Chairman Christchurch Casinos Ltd and Director for the Totally Tourism Group.

Served as a Board Member and Chairman for Destination Queenstown and as Director of other Company’s outside of Skyline in the adventure tourism field.

Phillip Hensman resized 

Phillip Hensman, Director 

Phillips long career at McCulloch & Partners, Chartered Accountants in Queenstown has enabled Phillip to apply his financial skills when exercising his Director duties. 

Retiring from the Skyline Enterprises Board after 31 years’ service in 2015 Phillip continues as a Director of Christchurch Casinos.

Board Alistair Ryan1 resized 

Alistair Ryan, Director

Alistair is originally from Christchurch having graduated from Canterbury University (M.Com (Hons) in Accounting) and was appointed to the Board in 2004.  He brings extensive experience in the casino industry gained as an advisor to the Casino Control Authority between 1991 and 1995 during his time as a partner with Ernst and Young in Auckland.  Alistair held a number of senior executive positions during an extended career with SKYCITY Entertainment Group, commencing in 1995 through to retirement as Chief Financial Officer in June 2011.

In addition to his board membership of Christchurch Casino Limited, Alistair is currently Chairman of NZX listed companies Kingfish Limited, Barramundi Limited, and Marlin Global Limited, a Director and Audit and Risk Committee Chair of NZX and ASX listed companies Metlifecare Limited and Evolve Education Group Limited, a Director of New Zealand Racing Board, and a director of unlisted company Lewis Road Creamery Limited.

Alistair is a Member of ICANZ’s Audit Oversight Committee and has been a member of one of the judging panels for the annual INFINZ finance sector awards for the last four years.
